Sprague Ogilvie is a Registered Dietitian with over 15 years of experience spanning clinical nutrition, private practice, lecturing, and corporate healthcare. She holds a BSc in Dietetics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and has built her career around evidence-based, patient-centred care.
Through her private practice, Sprague specialises in nutrition counselling, chronic disease management, fertility and women’s health, and digestive health. She is passionate about creating personalised meal plans that are both practical and sustainable, helping clients improve their health outcomes without unnecessary restriction.
My advice goes deeper than ”drink more water and eat fruit and veg” (although that is a good starting point for many people!)
Her clinical background includes managing nutrition for critically ill patients in ICU, surgical, and medical wards, where she worked closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient recovery. She also has extensive experience in outpatient nutrition care, supporting patients with conditions such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.
In addition to clinical practice, Sprague has a strong background in sales, marketing, and education within the nutrition industry. She has delivered professional training to healthcare providers, organised medical events and congresses, and developed protocols and teaching materials for hospitals and dietetic teams. Her ability to combine scientific knowledge with clear communication has been a hallmark of her career, making complex nutrition concepts easy to understand and apply.
“My approach to nutrition is rooted in the belief that every individual is wonderfully unique. You deserve more than a generic plan; you deserve a personalised wellness journey that meets you where you are and takes you where you want to be”.
Known for her high empathy, practical approach, and integrative mindset, Sprague is dedicated to empowering individuals and communities with the tools they need to make sustainable changes. Whether working one-on-one with clients, collaborating with healthcare teams, or educating the public, she is committed to improving lives through nutrition.
