I recently posted an article on how to introduce solid foods to your baby’s diet. I thought that I would follow it up with a video demonstrating how to do so. This video shows you a practical and easy way to introduce your baby to solids that is not scary or overwhelming to him.
In this video, the mum is using the tip of her finger to encourage her baby to taste the food. The food will be an entirely new taste, texture and feel for the baby, but his mom’s finger won’t be. In my experience, it is better to initially limit the number of new experiences that your baby is exposed to when introducing solids.
Take note of how the baby responds to the food in his mouth. See how his lips and tongue are moving. Introducing foods to your baby helps them to start using their mouth and tongue muscles in a different way. Also, take note of the feedback that is given to the baby and how he responds to it.
